About Us
Edithvale Fire Brigade - Serving our community for over 90 years
Edithvale Fire Brigade is a fully volunteer fire brigade that supports the local community with fire and rescue services. Our services include emergency medical response in support of Ambulance Victoria to critically ill patients, plus a large range of broader emergency management support, community education and advice throughout the year. Our professionally trained members comprise of local residents who attend and support in excess of 300 emergency calls a year.
On March 17th 2024 we are holding our annual Community Fun Run. This event proved to be a great success in the past few years with over 400 participants per year. This year, we are aiming to draw in excess of 500 participants who have the opportunity to walk 5kms, or run 5kms, 10kms or 15kms in a series of age and group categories. The Community Fun Run event will be held at Edithvale Common of the Memorial Oval on Edithvale Road with running courses along the Longbeach Trail abutting the wetlands.
Apart from the Fire Services Levy contributions to funding the fire service, volunteer contributions of time and effort is by far the biggest contributor to resourcing Victoria’s fire and emergency services. With our Brigade’s well earned fundraising efforts, we aim to supplement our existing CFA supplied equipment with additional state of the art equipment so that we can provide increased safety to the community.
